July 2016

We spent most of July with the big Fischer cousins. Jeremiah was in Arkansas for most of the summer. Brandon and Mikayla were here for a couple of weeks as well. We started July with our annual trip to Caemeron's fireworks tent (bigger than ever this year!)

We also celebrated Pop's 70th birthday in July

Lydia invited Ash to go to JoyWorks choir camp at OBU this summer. They spent a week in the dorms and went to a lot of rehearsals. Ashley was pretty disappointed that OBU's colors were purple and gold and their mascot was a tiger. #tooclosetolsu

Meanwhile, we enjoyed some time with this guy including a trip to Dave and Buster's. Nate has the best luck on this fishing game.

We picked these two cuties up on Friday. They were still smiling and still enjoying each other's company.

For years, I've been wanting to go to the World Championship Cardboard Boat Race at Heber Springs, but I never seem to hear about it until KATV is broadcasting from there the day of the event. Well, this year, I heard the announcement about a week before it happened. With so much advanced notice, we obviously couldn't just GO to the race; we had to PARTICIPATE! This year's theme was Pixar, so it seemed meant to be. Nate and I spent a weekend making Arkansas Tow Mater. The Krebs happened to be free that Saturday and joined us on this crazy-for-most-people/typical-for-us adventure.

Nate and Morgan were the captains, and they got interviewed by KATV. I don't think they ever made it on the news, but it was still cool. No pics from the actual event, but I got some awesome video. Tow Mater did not survive the course, but they did WAY better than their opponents who couldn't even get out of the starting blocks!

We spent the rest of the day enjoying Greer's Ferry Lake. Great times with great friends! We might never do it again, but all the kids left planning for next year's boat!
