WARNING: The next two months consist of major gymnastics overload. Ashley worked so hard preparing for her first season of competitive gymnastics competitions. By this point, she was getting tired of the hours and hours of practicing. We also learned that when she is nervous, she gets very mean (see below).

She turned it around before showtime and was all smiles.

After a not-so-great start on floor (she didn't hear the music start), she had a stellar performance on bars! Spoiler alert: this would turn out to be the highest score she posted on any event all season (9.65). Once she got a taste for winning, she was all business the rest of the season! She ended up 2nd in the all around in her very first meet.

First place on bars!

Quest Middle School had its first ever Quiz Bowl team last year. Like everything else at Quest, it was modestly put together with parent coaches and finally some buzzers! The principal Mr. Stevens could not have been more supportive though! He came to the practices and competitions, wore a Quiz Bowl T-shirt, and even honored the team at a pep rally.

Regardless of the weather, the show must go on! Ashley had her second meet in Conway and did great!

"Ladies and gentlemen, your all-around champion Ashley Adams!" She like the sound of that. ;)

One of the biggest days for our whole family was January 24 when Nate was baptized. He had made a profession of faith several years ago but had not really asked much about baptism. We really wanted him to wait until he was ready. His first year in FSM really gave him a desire to live out his faith. Some of our best conversations were in the truck, just the two of us, on our way home from church on Wednesday nights. We started taking sermon notes (on his own) and really got involved in a great small group lead by Sr. High boys. We were so thankful for this time in his life.

Afterward, we celebrated with brunch and games at our house. #biscuitbar #quizbowl

At the end of January, the Stacys made it home from Australia. Sorry, no pics of them, but here is a kangaroo pelt they brought home for Dad.
